Eugene picked up the cycling bug after family holidays watching the Tour de France. He joined Clifton CC and quickly became a competitive racing cyclist bursting on the scene in 2015 when he just missed out on the National Junior 10m TT record by 6 seconds. His consistent podium places at local road races saw him gain his 2nd Category licence and along with some solid performances in the National Junior RR Series, his season culminated in being selected for the Yorkshire Squad in the Junior Tour of Wales.
